Thanks for all donations to our December challenge. It takes everyone’s help to make our work possible. Our current fund-raisers include cottage raffle tickets for July 2026, and custom engraved pavers to be installed on-site. For examples, you can provide a short quote, honor someone, or include your name and city/state.
Proceeds from these efforts are used to maintain and repair the historic house.
The funds will allow us to obtain some much-needed repairs on the house, and seal-up the board-and-batten classroom. Since the classroom was built, some wood shrinkage resulted in gaps. These can now be fixed, and other improvements will make the room more comfortable. Several large groups will year, and can make use of the extended facility.
Fifty years ago, in 1975, the Rachel Carson Homestead Association was formed as a nonprofit organization to save Rachel’s early home. It is a definitive part of her legacy and environmental education. RCHA remains driven by individuals who respect Carson’s life and legacy. Through many transitions and changes in the cultural and political landscape, with your help, the successive “we” persists. Sharing your passion, RCHA grows its reach.
We couldn’t have continued without you – through recent challenges of COVID, construction, and more. Generousity of spirit and the volunteer work we do is important, but it also takes many volunteers and money to provide our services. Whatever you can contribute is sincerely appreciated.
2025 is the 50th anniversary of the nonprofit Rachel Carson Homestead Association protecting the house where Rachel was born and lived, and promoting her legacy. Help make this critical landmark year a significant success.
Thank you for participating!
